Kvarner holidaysHoliday rentals - villas & apartments to rent in Kvarner
The Kvarner Gulf or the Kvarner Bay as it is sometimes is sandwiched between Istrian Peninsula to the north and the Croatian mainland and is arguably Croatia's best kept secret. The region is characterised by its wonderful islands, the largest and most well known being Cres, Krk, Pag, Rab and Lošinj but also its mountains in the historic province of Gorski Kotar.
The main city is Rijeka which is the busiest port on the Adriatic whilst the most famous tourist destination is Opatija with its 12km seasfront promenade. Opatija is commonly referred to as the "Nice" of the Adriatic as just like its counterpart on the French Riviera, is frequented by the rich and famous with its chic shops and 5-star hotels. Other summer holiday hotspots include the coastal villages of Lovran, Crikvenica, Kraljevica and Novi Vinodolski.
